Local first responders and law enforcement agencies teamed up last week at Carthage Junior High School for specialized training focused on active shooter situations. Hosted by Carthage ISD, the training was led by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) program, nationally recognized for its expertise in emergency response.
The two-day Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR) training concentrated on improving coordination between police, firefighters, and emergency medical services. Participants practiced critical response techniques designed to enhance communication and reduce response times, ultimately aimed at saving lives during an active attack scenario.
“The safety of our students, staff, and community members is always our top priority,” said Carthage ISD on social media, “When multiple agencies train together, we’re stronger and better prepared.”
